COVID-19 American History Project

Two of Circle the City’s physicians, Dr. Hajaig and Dr. Civic, were selected to participate in the COVID-19 American History Project, a nationwide initiative led by the Library of Congress.

As part of this congressionally funded effort, Dr. Hajaig and Dr. Civic shared their personal experiences and reflections from the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic—capturing the unique challenges of caring for individuals facing homelessness during an unprecedented public health crisis.

The COVID-19 American History Project is a multiyear initiative to collect and preserve the oral histories of frontline healthcare workers, survivors, and families affected by the pandemic. These stories will be archived and made publicly available, helping future generations understand the human impact of COVID-19 through the voices of those who lived it.
